Back in 2015, I had recently completed my degree and was preparing for competitive entrance exams for further studies. I had fast and free internet connection, so I was always exploring new things on the web, like games and movies.

One fine day, I came across a website which had a nice design layout and a daily updated series. But, what caught my eye was the integrated chatbox- visitors were chatting with each other, as well as with the admin. So, I started visiting regularly and became friends with the admin. He soon appointed me moderator to handle the chatbox messages. We would stay awake until 3 or 4 am as the admin, Randeep Singh, would have to upload the daily series (mostly Indian TV/reality series, movies and such). Earlier, in my college projects, I was fascinated by Web Designing(UI/UX). So I was curious to learn from Randeep brother.

At first, I thought, why would he teach me all of this? He is not even getting paid; why would he disclose his business model to me?” But, to my surprise, he happily agreed to teach me everything via teamviewer once his work was finished, often after 3am.

Learning Always Requires Dedication & Determination

I was assisting Randeep for uploading and publishing series on website, and it was very challenging to stay awake until 3 am. But, my passion to learn something new with my favorite technology and this amazing teacher motivated me to keep on working. We started with the basics, like domain name purchasing, hosting, WordPress installation, etc. I had read about all of these elements in some blogs and  websites, but Randeep helped me understand them better than ever through experience.

From Complete Strangers to Brothers

In this modern world, we meet so many people online. Most of them remain as friends with whom we share photos on social media. But, with Randeep, I started as his fan, and then we became real friends. When the learning part came, I had treated him as my teacher with utmost respect because he was generously sharing his knowledge.

Once the learning phase was over and I had started working along with him as equals, sharing a workload, we became like brothers.

I was really touched by his caring and selfless nature. Whenever I needed support, he was there, even when I was stressed out or about to give up. He would patiently hear out my issues and problems, and then give me sage advice from his own life experience. He would point out very small things, but their impact was really big, which I now understand. Along with technical skills, I have learned how to be patient, how to remain calm and composed under difficult situations, how to try to understand different circumstances of different people. Most importantly, he taught me how to be generous in sharing knowledge and skills with everyone.

You never know by sharing your very small and simple skill; you may be making someone’s future.

Some people come into our life to Shape our future without any expectations

After our last project together, we fell out of touch and I have not been able to reconnect with him. However, a simple “thanks” would not be sufficient enough for Randeep, as he had played vital role in shaping my life. I have always believed in being happy, content with what I have, and always being grateful to God for his gifts. Now, I want to show my gratitude towards brother Randeep and will always pray for all the happiness of this world, and that all his dreams would come true.

A big thanks and warm hug to my brother, Randeep. I hope someday you’ll get to read this story and have a very big smile on your face. Keep smiling & keep spreading love, happiness, and kindness.
